Dr.
and Ms. Burton's home is nestled in the foothills
of the high sierra in northern California.
Turtle Rock Estate is the birthplace and
home of a quality herd of fullblood Boer Goats. The
overseer and owner, a physician surgeon, manages
the care and breeding of this herd with the same
attention to detail that he expects in his medical
practice. Kevin
and Pat Tenborg, "Flying T Ranch", are from
a cattle background having raised and bred
Limousine and commercial cattle. The knowledge they
have acquired over the last 21 years has been
implemented to raise good commercial meat and
fullblood Boer goats for the last five years. They
have paid close attention to raise a good working
kind of Boer Goat that you expect in today's
market. We
believe this combination gives the discriminating
buyer a choice for their production or show
stock. During
his show courier Little Texan has taken home
numerous Sr. Championships. . Little Texan posses
the great qualities of his sire... he holds up his
thick body with a long deep loin and full hip he
has always had, he is correct in the mouth and
straight up on his pasterns and legs, and he is
incredibly masculine You can see in his offspring
that he passes on these qualities! He also passes
on the feminity that we are all looking for in the
female lines. The
cross of Little Texan bred does and by Hoppin have
proven out to be incredible. We can't wait to take
them in the show pen this year. Our
full blood does are from the great foundation sires
including THE OLD MAN, HERCULES, DOE MAKER, THE
BOY NAMED SUE, CLOUD
DANCING,
EGGSFILE,
KAPTEIN,
SASQUATCH,
NBBG TSJAKA, TOPGUN
NO. 2,
PBL JR and proven LANDCORP SIRES. We
also have some solid red does sired by
BUSH. Our
does are by some of the great female lines 349
Patches, The Doe Maker, Eggspensive, Chakatta,
Sasuquatch, DSM Kala, Keri Downs, Earwell, Mofabi.
We have chosen these lines as a base for our herd
for their milkability, mothering ability, udder
correctness, and structural correctness. Our
percentage does were purchased from Dr. Robin
Skillman DVM they have come from a proven dairy
herd that is tall and long bodied, and one of the
top five milk production herds of Alpine dairy
goats in the USA. Their sire is the fullblood Boer
buck Talpa Red (solid red). Our herd is tested
regularly for various diseases. and reviewed for
body condition and health by Dr. Skillman. The kids
out of these does are tremendous and very
fancy. Please

We
were so fortunate to still have this suburb buck as
our foundation sire. He was purchased in 1997 from
Smith Boer Goats. Little Texan is a March
1997 buck, He is one of the last living sires by
the great Kaptein.
LITTLE TEXAN is sired by the immortal
KAPTEIN
who will inevitably go down as one of the USA
premier sires. In his short lifetime he sired
LEROY, CLOUD DANCING, and too many
other great sires, and does of today to mention
them all. LITTLE TEXAN is out of the embryo
flush from the wonderful doe of Don Smiths,
PATCHES.
We
also have a new buck named Hoppin he is 100%
South African he is out of Chakatta bred by
Jurgen Schultz and she won the Produce of dam class
at the National IBGA show in 2000. His sire is the
Enobled Eggsfile.
Hoppin was shown once his yearling year
under MD Shirley and it was pointed out that he has
the "front-end that we all should be looking for in
our herd sires". He also possesses a great long and
deep hind-end and thick loin.
