Crown Hill Heaven Sent a.k.a. 'Driplet' Driplet made a surprise visit to our farm on a bright sunshiney afternoon April 22, 2004. Mom, Clouds, didn't appear to be pregnant but that's another long story... She was certainly showing no signs and had been checked for babies repeatedly over the last 2 months during a long term illness. She didn't go down the hill with the rest of the herd so I went to check on her and she was presenting just a 'Driplet' of a baby. WOW! What a surprise! 3 lbs 4 oz and obviously premature! We finally calculated her birth was appx 18 days from full term! The photo is Driplet's second day here and she's really doing well considering her rocky entrance into the world! She's doing all the right little goat things... Eating, pooping and peeing and a lot of sleeping after her walks around the kitchen or patio! 'Driplet' at 2 days old! All 3 lbs 4 oz of her!  Photos below are at 9 days old and 6 lbs 12 oz already! Still no teeth but she's growing like a bad weed!    9 days old At 18 days Driplet weighed in at 9 lbs which is in keeping with gains for new kids and she was finally starting to get some teeth! At 29 days she weighed 13 lbs and still living in the playpen in the kitchen! At 33 days we felt she was doing well enough to leave her in a barn pen at night... Much to her horror!! At 35 days her hornbuds were finally up enough to disbud her! So things finally settled down for Driplet again and then came the INVASION!
